Slow cooker conundrum!!

Omg! Can't believe how fast this week has gone! It's Saturday already! No wait gone twelve so it's Sunday! Eak! And still not attempted my slow cooker lasagne! I got dis-heartened mid week when I actually read the recipe and discovered u have to cook the sauce 1st! I was thinking just bung it all in raw n hey presto the slow cooker works it's magic! I am seriously considering giving it a miss now! Oh what to do?

Maybe I shall look up how to cook a full roast in it for tomorrow!

Whatever happens I shall have to go shopping 1st it's like old mother hubbards round here!

Dust for dinner anyone?

No fluster Nutella Clusters!

Did a little trial run for my blogging about cooking this eve with my son George! Working my way up to the slow cooker lasagne! I might even look at the instructions before I go to bed, but must admit I'm getting cold feet!

Well back to this evening! When I got in with George he got out his Nutella recipe book that he was given to for christmas and asked if we could make something! Being smart I said if we have the ingredients for one we can make it! (I thought this was going to be an impossible challenge for him as u always have something missing)

A little while later he emerged from the kitchen with a huge smile and the Nutella recipe book! We can make these he exclaimed and dragged me back to the kitchen! He had the ingredients laid out to make Nutella Clusters! Well he used his initiative bless him before me I saw a jar of Nutella, a pack of frosties and a Thorntons chocolate Santa.  The actual recipe calls for 90g/3oz of milk chocolate, 120g (half a cup) of Nutella and 40g (1 3/4 of a cup) of corn flakes.  It's pretty simple just melt the chocolate and Nutella n then add the cornflakes, give me a good coating, spoon mixture into cake cases or make little clusters on grease prof paper on a baking sheet. We used cake cases which made 12 but the recipe says it makes 15 if you take the baking sheet option.

We made them in 10 mins n then just had to wait 2 hours for them to set!  We had little help licking spoons and bowls by the dog! He ended up with melted chocolate on his snout and I have just discovered a spoon on his rug lol

Oh n by the way they tasted YUM!  Right off to look at the slow cooker lasagne instructions wish me luck!

Blog promises!

Dear Blog,

I promise in 2014 I will try harder not to forget about you because I am busy blogging for work!

I am going to try to blog once a week and I am going to start with trying a new recipe every week and blog about it!

For Christmas I got a slow cooker recipe book and this week I am going to attempt to cook a lasagne!  Lasagne is my fave comfort food so if this works I will be over the moon! Mmmm dribbling already!

I also said in 2014 I will be more organised! So with a little Pinterest inspiration and the slow cooker I am going to have a go at preparing and freezing a full weeks of slow cooker recipes at the weekend. Then I can just bung them in every morning and let the slow cooker weave it's magic!

Kind regards,

Lucy (aka the sloppy blogger)

Homes wanted for Lonely tea cups . . .

Well today I pampered myself and spent a bit of me time in my 'Dorothy' room and gave some lonely vintage tea cups a make over.

My 'Dorothy' room is my new craft/spare room.

We moved in August from a little cosy two bed house in Dagenham to a four bed in the historic little village of Horndon on the Hill.  We are still decorating and unpacking but I have claimed the box room as my own and filled it with all things Wizard of Ozish, hence the name my family have lovingly given it.

I have taken to buying lonely vintage tea cups, amongst other things, at the boot sale with a view to giving them a bit of a make over with some of my stash and re-selling them at a village fayre in June.

Here are my latest boot sale finds!!

I think these little tea cups will find a good home now :) I used the silk flowers I bought at the bootie, vintage buttons and ribbon from my stash to give them a country cottage feel.

Before . . . .

. . .After

It's been a long time

Epic fail on blogging as per usual, but a blog, challenge for work has inspired me to try harder and get this going again! Get my creative mojo on!!

Latest crafty thing I have done was forced upon me when I couldn't get out to buy an anniversary card so I made it!  My efforts went down a storm and hubby felt especially loved by receiving a home made card he didn't even notice the lack of present! Lol

Here is the master piece in question!! Whoop whoop!  The ribbon is actually from my wedding cake and the butterfly from a table centre piece.
